General Education

UArizona's General Education curriculum comprises approximately one-third of a student’s academic program. General Education includes Foundations courses in English composition, mathematics and second language. In addition, students will complete an introductory course to General Education as well as courses in Exploring Perspectives, Building Connections, and an final ePortfolio course upon completion of these requirements.

Six units of English composition, three units in mathematics, and proficiency in a second language are required for Humanities students (second-semester proficiency for the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary degree (BIS), and fourth-semester proficiency for the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and all of our other degrees). .

We ask that students work with their primary academic advisor for help with General Education and overall degree requirements.
